Life in Boulder

I really need to get the hang of updating our blog on a more consistent basis. Our last post was in August and a lot has happened in our lives since then! Here's a quick summary to bring you up to date on our life in Boulder...
Seth is now working hard 5 days/week at 2 different jobs- Whole Foods and Eldora Mountain Resort. He works in the prepared foods department at Whole Foods and is a lift supervisor at Eldora. His day starts early and is non-stop either in a hot kitchen working with delicious food or on a cold mountain tearing up the fresh powder while he checks on his team of liftees. His day doesn't stop when he gets home, though. He puts on his daddy hat and wrestles, tickles, snuggles, and loves on our daughter until bedtime. Stella is a constant source of entertainment- something we like to call "Stellavision." She's now speaking in sentences and is especially fluent in the language of "no." She loves reading books, supervising and ordering the dogs around, watching football with her daddy, and trying on my shoes. It is such an immense blessing to get to watch her daily life unfold. I am thankful constantly for the Lord's provision in our lives.
The new adventure of church-planting here never ceases to amaze us! We are still a few months out until our lead guy, Matt and his family are done with his training in Little Rock and move here to join us and the other 3 families. Until then, we are relying on the Lord to bring about new relationships, conversations about the gospel, and disciples of Christ. We are currently meeting in our cozy apartment every Sunday afternoon for home group. Every week looks different. The constants are the place and that there will be hot food and sweet fellowship. A few people from our apartment complex are interested in coming as well as other folks Seth and I and the rest of our team have met in Boulder.
Here are a few pics of our recent adventures...

Live

Live. And Live Well.BREATHE. Breathe in and Breathe deeply. Be PRESENT. Do not be past. Do not be future. Be now.On a crystal clear, breezy 70 degree day, roll down the windows and FEEL the wind against your skin. Feel the warmth of the sun.If you run, then allow those first few breaths on a cool Autumn day to FREEZE your lungs and do not just be alarmed, be ALIVE.Get knee-deep in a novel and LOSE track of time.If you bike, pedal HARD… and if you crash then crash well.Feel the SATISFACTION of a job well done—a paper well-written, a project thoroughly completed, a play well-performed.If you must wipe the snot from your 3-year old’s nose, don’t be disgusted if the Kleenex didn’t catch it all… because soon he’ll be wiping his own.If you’ve recently experienced loss, then GRIEVE. And Grieve well.At the table with friends and family, LAUGH. If you’re eating and laughing at the same time, then might as well laugh until you puke. And if you eat, then SMELL. The aromas are not impediments to your day. Steak on the grill, coffee beans freshly ground, cookies in the oven. And TASTE. Taste every ounce of flavor. Taste every ounce of friendship. Taste every ounce of Life. Because-it-is-most-definitely-a-Gift. -Kyle Lake-
